Social Science Week

In Nursery Wing of Veda Vyasa D.A.V Public School a Social Science Week was observed from the 9th to the 11th of October 2018,under the able guidance of Mrs.Anju Singh, Supervisory Incharge of the Nursery Wing and H.O.D of the Social Science Department.

This inculcated a love in the young minds for India's rich cultural heritage. A plethora of activities conducted during the week aimed at inspiring students to devote themselves wholeheartedly to nurture and preserve the culture of India.

A myriad of activities were held.The highlights are as follows:-

1. 9 th October -Word Wall was made in all the classes.

Pre School- Topic-Festivals of India.

Pre Primary- Topic- Cuisines of India.

Class 1- Topic-Fairs and Festivals of India.

This activity enhanced the vocabulary of the little ones and the 'word wall ' made the class rooms print rich.

2. 10 th October

Presentation- In all the classes of Pre School and Pre Primary, children represented different states through their attire and speech.

3. 11th October

Quizlet - A quiz activity was held in Pre School,Pre Primary and Class 1 .The students in all the classes were asked various questions related to all the states in india about cuisines, dress and language.These were very informative and added to their knowledge.

The enthusiasm,devotion and passion with which the students engrossed themselves in the celebration reflected that they are the true torchbearers to join hands to save the environment for a better tomorrow and to restore our rich cultural heritage.

The students of classes 6 to 8 performed skits son social issues. The event was an amalgamation of awareness sensitization and theatre . While the students of Class 9 presented themselves as young parliamentarians and deliberated on various issues of National and International importance The students were at ther articulate best as they debated on various issues as uniform Civil Code. Simultaneous elections . No Detention Policy etc. Students of Class X participated Model United nations Conference and deliberated on issues of United Nations Committees of ECOSIC and UNGA, Climate Change and Sustainable Development. Enactment of main markets by the students of Class XI won the admiration of students as it highlighted the concepts and intricacies of various markets.. A multimedia Quiz organized for students of classes 11 and 12 captivated the attention of audience.

A newsletter highlighting the events of the week long celebration and released by the Principal . She congratulated the students on their innovative and enthusiastic presentations.
