Performance Enhancement Programme 

For Teachers of Computer Science and Informatics Practices

Under the aegis of DAVCAE; PEP workshop was held for CS and IP for DAV teachers of Delhi-

NCR. The two day workshop was organised on 27 July and 3 Aug 2019 at Veda Vyasa DAV

Public School Vikaspuri, which was attended by 50 participants from various DAV schools.

The aim of the workshop was to enhance the programming concepts using PYTHON as a

language, to inculcate critical thinking, creativity,and innovation through experiential learning

which relates to contextual real life challenges. The resource person encouraged out of the box

thinking rather than simple step wise instructions.

The teachers created a question bank of High Order Thinking Skills(HOTS) and discussed tricky

problem solving aspect of programming in python.

Numpy and Pandas - Arrays, Series and Dataframes were taken up on the second day .

Database Handling and Connectivity using MySQL for making real life projects were also

discussed. Reading and creating csv files in Python for projects was done with real life data.

Django-A webpage framework and its applications were also discussed.

The blueprints of CS and IP papers were discussed and shared with teachers, and a collaborative task of designing multiple sample papers along with answer keys for both CS & IP was taken up by the teachers. The level of interaction and participation was very high.

The entire session was conducted by Ms. Gurpreet Kaur. She took great pains to make the entire session interactive and enjoyable.
