Lohri Celebration- Nursery Wing
Lohri is the harvest festival of Punjab ,famously known as the bread basket of India.Thus ,people residing in Punjab attach a great significance to Lohri.This harvest festival is celebrated to mark both celebration and sharing.
Lohri was celebrated at Nursery wing of V.V.D.A.V.PUBLIC SCHOOL on 10 th of January 2020 with a lot of exuberance and fanfare.The mood on the campus was upbeat and the students were totally absorbed in the festive spirit of Lohri.
The function comprised of speeches highlighting the importance of Lohri,Makar sakranti and pongal too. Which ushers in the cheerful spring season bidding adieu to the dull winter.This was followed by a Punjabi folk dance based on lohri.
The Principal accompanied by Incharges of all the wings lit a bonfire and offered,Lohri Poojan, comprising of prayers and Prasad to the holy light.Thereafter she blessed the little cherubs and said few motivating words.
To add fun ,the teachers and students also danced and the whole environment was filled with festivity and enthusiasm.Groundnuts and rewarees were also distributed to one and all.These celebrations play a vital role to keep the traditions and culture of our country alive.
