SANKALP SAHODAYA MODEL UNITED NATIONS 2020

Veda Vyasa DAV Public School successfully organized SANKALP SAHODAYA MODEL UNITED NATIONS 2020 under the guidance of their Principal Ms Shalini Arora and HOD Social Science Ms Anju Singh This two-day virtual conference was attended by more than150 delegates from all over India.

It saw the young diplomats evolve a consensus on the agendas of their respective committees. The committees simulated were - United Nations General Assembly DISEC with the agenda 'Growth of non-state actors with emphasis on the use of weapons of mass destruction - United Nations Human Rights Council with the agenda 'Humanitarian Crisis in Yemen' - Russia India China Trilateral Meet with the agenda 'Discussion on the ongoing Indo-China Conflict' - CITIZENS DIALOGUE with the agenda 'Deliberation on Online Education and review of the recent 30% syllabus cut by CBSE' - All India Political Parties Meet (AIPPM) with the agenda 'Review of extension of Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act in Jammu and Kashmir and North-East India'

The committees were well moderated by extremely proficient and diligent Executive Board. Ms Shalini Arora the Principal appreciated the diplomatic skills and debating prowess of the delegates. She underlined the significance of such MUN events which prepares today's youth to become Global leaders of tomorrow and equips them with analytical and critical thinking . Ms Anju Singh HOD Social Science also highlighted the importance of MUNs in providing Experiential Learning Experience where the students learn about diplomacy,international relations and United Nations. The most significant highlight of this event was that it was conceived and executed by the Students, the teachers were mere facilitators!! VVDAV VIKASPURI once again made an impact with many of it's delegates in different committees bagging prizes!!
