In the spirit of celebrating the *International Year of Millets* in 2023, Veda Vyasa DAV Public school, under the inspiring leadership of principal, Mrs. Shalini Arora, supervision of dynamic Supervisory Incharge Mrs. Anju Singh, , guidance of HOD Science Mrs. Anita Jain, Science Department organized a captivating event known as *Magical Millets Day* on September 27, 2023, for students of *classes III to V*.
The primary aim of this event was to promote awareness about the numerous benefits of millets among our students. To achieve this, students were encouraged to bring in samples of various millets.Through hands-on activities, they learned to identify and appreciate the significance of different types of millets. The day was further enhanced with a lively rendition of the song "CHAL BHARAT, UTH BHARAT…" which the children sang with boundless enthusiasm.
In an engaging twist, the students of class V took charge of organizing and conducting a millet-themed quiz, challenging their peers' knowledge about these nutritious grains.
To add a delicious dimension to the day, students were also encouraged to bring different dishes prepared using millets. This culinary exchange allowed students to taste and appreciate the versatility of millets, making the day even more enjoyable and educational.
In conclusion, the Magical Millets Day of 2023 was not just an event but an opportunity for our students to connect with the nutritional and environmental significance of millets, all while having a delightful and enriching experience.
