To pay tribute and salutation to the great leader Mahatma Gandhi ji , the universal apostle of peace and non- violence, the students of VVDAV Public School Junior Wing celebrated Gandhi Jayanti from 3rd October to 5th October 2023.
To revere this day, the students held a Special Assembly to commemorate the Mahatma’s life and teachings on 3rd October and they also sang Gandhi’s favourite bhajan ‘ Raghupati Raghav Raja Raam’ with full exuberance.
They actively took part in the Cleanliness Drive ‘Swachhta Hi Sewa’ following Gandhi’s ideology, cleanliness and hygiene.
On Second Day students paid a rich tribute as they narrated the values and ideals of TRUTH and NON VIOLENCE through their stories, speeches, poems and songs.
Students talked with passion about the ideology of non-violence, truth, honesty and love for humanity that Gandhiji believed in and shared their own experiences too. They vowed to imbibe his life lessons to become better persons.
A special virtual tour to Sabarmati Ashram was arranged for the students which brought joy to their faces.
The Third Day was organised as ‘Shramdaan Divas’ in which students voluntarily extended their help to teachers, peons, gardener, students, etc. The Shramdaan performed was an enriching experience for the students as they imbibed the values of Dignity of Labour as well as Cleanliness.
The school Principal, Ms.Shalini Arora lauded the efforts of the students and also encouraged the young minds to follow the path of honesty, sincerity and non -violence.
The Supervisory Incharge and Social Science Department Head, Ms.Anju Singh motivated students to adopt Gandhian principles in their daily lives to spread his message of endurance, peace and harmony.
The celebration demonstrates that remarkable feats can be achieved when everyone unite with a shared vision and work towards a mission.
