SPECTRA-THE SPORTS CARNIVAL

"Talent wins games,but team work and intelligence wins championships". Sports at early childhood level is not about competition,it is about fun,being physically active,learning the basics of sports and building co ordination and motor skills so as to give the little angels an opportunity to display their self confidence,patience,zeal and sportsmanship.

Annual Sports Fest "Spectra" of Nursery Wing was held on 8.3.19 , in the school premises with zeal, excitement and frolic. On that day the atmosphere of the Nursery Wing wore a festive look and great  interest was observed among the students and guardians. 

The programme began with the welcome of  the guests of honour Chairman DR. N.K Uberoi and the Founder  Principal Mrs.Chitra Nakra,  and Manager Mr. Jain. Principals from various DAV schools also graced the occassion. Principal Ms.Shalini Arora  along with the Supervisory head Ms. Anju Singh welcomed the guests  with planters. This was followed  by the "D.A.V. GAAN."

The Chief guest DR.N.K.Uberoi thereafter declared the sports meet open and released balloons. A marching contingent comprising of little soldiers, marched  with grace and pride to the tunes of marching band. 

A mesmerizing  "Welcome Dance" by the cherubs was appreciated by one and all. This was  followed by magnificent display of Drills ,Aerobics and Zumba by the tiny tots. The  students  mesmerized  the audience with their energetic performance of  Karate skills. A display comprising of various yogic exercises by the little cherubs left the audience awestruck. 

The anchoring of the programme was done by our budding orators. A speech by reverend Principal  Ms. Shalini Arora comprised of the accomplishments  and  laurels  won by the students in various fields. Ms. Anju Singh,Incharge of the Nursery Wing, read the Annual Report which comprised  of the activities  done during the year 2018- 2019 and the new innovative  projects taken up.The  chairman Dr. N.K. Uberoi also encouraged  the pupils by appreciating  them and emphasized on the importance of sports in a childs life. Founder Principal Ms. Chitra Nakra called the performances  of the cherubs  on the Sports Meet a "JAI HO "Performance. She was happy to see the the seeds that she had sown blooming  into a gigantic  and beautiful  garden consisting of daffodils,lilies and tulips.

The most  interesting activity of the day was -Fun races   for the tiny tots called Happy feet,Shaka laka Boom Boom etc and races for fathers and mothers which  were full of verve and vigour.The environment  was full of , energy,delight and excitement.  The  enthusiasm  of the parents was unbelievable. They were awarded prizes too.

The SPORTS  MEET ended successfully  with a vote of thanks by Manager Sir Mr. Jain and 'Shanti Path'.
