Science Week - Senior Wing

It is acknowledged fact that in modern education system science and innovation
complement each other . VV DAV dreams of giving INDIA, students who can actually
think , create and research and innovate . In order to provide stimulating environment
to ourstudents VV DAV organised Science week ( 24th - 26th july 2019) where 100%
students from classes I to X and Science students of XI and XII were made to
participate in various science activities. The celebrationsaimed at developing scientific
aptitude among the young minds, providing them with opportunities to have practical
experience on scientific concepts.
The activities included designing clay models of natural landscapes like rivers,
mountains, trees etc in classes 1 and 2 , whereas the young hands of class 3
experimented with one of the most important elements of nature, water.
A Food Mela was organised by the students of class 4 highlighting the quintessence of a
balanced diet to keep ourselves fit and healthy. The activity was designed to magnify
the importance of various nutrients in our diet.
Students of class 5 had an enriching hands-on experiment sessions exploring the
concepts of air- pressure, electricity etc. It was full of fun activities that helped the
students to see concepts in interesting and different ways.
Class 6-10 students celebrated science week by performing hands on experiment
activity.Activity comprised of art integration and experiential learning where in they
made charts describing principles behind activities.Best models were exhibited at
academic open house on 27 july. This activity gave the learners a deep insight into the
world of scientific principles.
Class 11 students presented powerpoint presentations on carbon footprints,Innovative
ways to cobat environmental pollution etc topics with zeal and enthusiasm. Lots of
efforts were put by them for collecting credible data.It was informative and insightful
for both presentor and viewor
. Class 12 students presented "PPT on Research based Projects " in the school premises.
The participants performed projects with zeal and enthusiasm and prepared their
presentations on the basis of their observations.
It was a good learning experience for the participants as well as for the audience.
Principal Ms Shalini Arora and all Supervisory Incharges , applauded the activities
presented by the students and encouraged them to keep up the good work
