On the momentous occasion of Earth Day, a group of students from IX and XII standards were fortunate to attend a Workshop on Sustainability Awareness, under the mentorship of a couple of their admired teachers.

A trip to a delectable location- the Karma Lakelands resort hotel, rendered the attendees with insights into a surfeit of routes to not just get better at, but also champion the mountainous job of waste management, something that the modern-day world badly needs and is quite in tune with the initiative taken up by the institution to help conserve and nurture the natural glory of our beloved planet.

As the expedition embarked with on a warmly welcoming note, a group of appreciably gentle, hospitable and cooperative people were glad to introduce the guests to the strategies employed by the management to deal effectively with the waste generated on the campus, the revered and noble practice of organic farming that sustains the population through its reliance on implements such as vermicompost and biocompost, topped by innovative ideas to repurpose the litter that dots most school premises in the shape of cardboard rolls, paper bits and bottles.

The students were also amazed to witness structures made using "Ecobricks" that reminded them of similar endeavours made by them.

The magnificent ambience served as the cherry on top of the fabulous cake.

The event concluded with a brief introduction of "Save Soil"-the revolutionary project taken up by the Isha Foundation that is aimed at replenishing the organic content of the soil through popular support. As the gathering neared its culmination, none of the participants shied away from capturing the blissful moments.

In a nutshell, it was a subject of sheer delight to have been a witness to such an enlightening workshop that is certain to have bestowed a great deal of awareness to aid the process of responsible action.
