Workshop on developing 21st century skills under the P2E

The ever changing needs of the present often go to conflict with outdated and previously useful skill sets of the past.
Acknowledging the need to teach students about a futuristic skill set, the students of Veda Vyasa DAV Public school were given a golden opportunity to attend a workshop on developing 21st century skills under the P2E, Passport to Earning initiative, a joint initiative by CBSE and UNICEF. The school’s alumna Ms. Ashima Singh is the head of the program.She holds over 20 years of experience in educational project management. She is part of the core leadership team to accelerate Learning Link Foundation industrious engagement in the education environment. The school felt proud to welcome her back to the institution. The Principal Ms. Shalini Arora kick started the workshop by motivating the students to become job providers in the future instead of job seekers. The incharge Ms. Kavita Dewan was equally enthusiastic about the project and requested the students to include more students in the project. The students felt proud to be part of one of the only 500 schools who got the opportunity to participate in this initiative. The workshop provided a step by step guide on all the courses offered in the programme. The courses aim to inculcate values of financial independence, employability skills and IT skills. The session was held impromptu, giving the students a learning experience about dealing with difficult situations.
