Ushering the festive spirits with gaiety and grandeur Veda Vyasa DAV Public School Junior Wing Students and Staff members celebrated Vijaydashami and Garba which was a sui generis celebritas.
The day commenced with the recitation of Gayatri mantra followed by the journey of Lord Ram through poetry in motion.
Keeping the festive spirit alive students also presented soul stirring scintillating theatrical performance “Shakti-Ek Vijaygatha”. It highlights the fight between Shakti and Demon and showcased how goddesss Durga killed the demon and celebrated victory through Dhunuchi dance which symbolize a celebration of victory of good over evil, light over darkness and also the victory of mankind.
Tiny tots painted the pictures of Ravana
and recited beautiful poems.
Invoking the blessings of divine deity, all the students came dressed in traditional Garba and Dandiya attire. The Dandiya Raas Dance is also nick named ‘The Sword Dance’ as the sticks of the dance represent the sword of Goddess Durga. The positivity and energy exuberating out of the colourful costumes combined with the enthusiasm of dancing to the Dandiya folk songs. The glittering performances of vvdavians spread joy and happiness.
The school Principal, Ms.Shalini Arora lauded the efforts of the students and explained the importance of celebrating the festivals.
The Supervisory Incharge, Ms.Anju urged the students to promote goodness and positivity in themselves to bring success and victory into their lives.
The celebration was a grand success as it not only enlightened the students but also evoked a feeling of pride, being the citizens of an incredible country.
Festivities as these would definitely be etched in everyone's hearts and minds forever.
