*Veda Vyasa DAV Public School celebrated Earth Day on April 22, 2026* , with great enthusiasm under the *theme “Our Power, Our Planet.”* The event was organized by the Geography Department under the guidance of *Principal Ms. Shalini Arora and the supervision of Ms. Kavita Dewan and Ms. Anju Singh* .
The celebration commenced with a special morning assembly conducted by the Senior Council. Students delivered inspiring speeches highlighting environmental responsibility. A powerful *Nukkad Natak* was presented during the assembly, sensitizing everyone to the urgent need for environmental conservation. This was followed by the *Principal administering the Earth Day pledge,* encouraging all to adopt eco-friendly practices.
Students of Classes VI–IX designed informative *bulletin boards* , while Classes X and XII prepared impactful *placards.* Students of Classes *III–V created placards and took out rallies* to spread awareness. *A plantation drive* was conducted, with around 50 ornamental and herbal plants planted in the school premises.
Students were felicitated for *Merit and Distinction in the Green Olympiad* . The *EEDP group* organized a *visit to the composting site for experiential learning* on waste management. Students also attended a *National Level Webinar* by Shri M. Ravichandran, Secretary, Ministry of Earth Sciences, Prof. Chetan Singh Solanki, and Kartikeya V Sarabhai on pressing environmental issues.
The celebration reinforced the importance of collective efforts towards a sustainable future.
